Brackett House Rooms
Each of the four room options at Brackett House are named after an influential woman in Cornell College history. All rooms offer a private bath and were renovated in the spring of 2016. We were pleased to ensure you could fully modern amenities while preserving the historic character of the house.
Elisabeth
Sleeps up to six guests with two private bedrooms and sitting room with a comfortable sleeper sofa. This suite also features an en suite bath. Named for a Brackett family member who made her name as a NY journalist.
Bess
Sleeps up to four guests with two queen size beds in the main sleeping room. This room features a private porch with views of Cornell’s campus and has an en suite bath. Named for Bess Medary ‘15, one of the first trained social workers to join the American Red Cross
Clara
Sleeps up to four guests with two queen size beds in the main sleeping room. This room also features a large private porch with views of other historic houses on 2nd street, and has an en suite bath. Named for one of the Brackett family matriarchs who also taught at Cornell.
Harriette
Sleeps up to two guests with a single queen size bed. This quiet room features a private porch with a view of Cornell’s campus, and has an en suite bath. Named for the first woman faculty member in Cornell and US History to receive a promotion to full professorship with a salary equal to that of male professors.
